Research Databases

An array of comprehensive databases enables you to locate articles when major Internet search engines cannot.  These tools are available within the Library, from your laptop or from one of our computers, and most are also accessible from your home or office.


Obituaries Index

This index to obituaries published in local newspapers is available at the Library. Reference librarians can assist you in obtaining a printout of the article.

Local History Files

The Westport Library’s extensive Local History Files are a rich resource that contains newspaper and magazine articles, brochures, reports, manuscripts and ephemera on topics about Westport's rich past and of local, regional and national interest. 

The Westport Library Local History Files are now available at the Westport Historical Society, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., and by appointment, at the Westport Historical Society's Archives & Library, 25 Avery Place, Westport CT 06880. Fill out this form to make an appointment.
